Casey Roberts
I was just watching the Thursday Odd Heat race on DirtOnDirt and heard James Essex say there would be some news coming out of Casey's camp in the coming months. Anyone know what that may be?

running the lucas series for YoY Is my guess.

That was my first guess but I didn't know he had that kind of backing and though his kids were big into sports and he didn't like missing their games

Maybe since he seen Madden pulling it off and doing good he feels like he could give it a shot?

Casey is a great racer and even better person but just can't see him being competitive on a national touring series

He is consistent and would make a good points racer.
-
He sure is, but on the national level?

Very good driver, but he's gonna some take some lumps on tour. Thing is, those lumps will make him a better driver in the long run.

Couldn't agree more, just kinda a surprise to me that he had the financial backing to tackle a national tour

Maybe part of the announcement is more backing to chase ROY... As to him not being good enough for a tour, I disagree. He has several regional tour titles, I believe he has won races on both WoO and Lucas as well and beat Bloomquist at Volusia too. He's pretty tight with Madden and a collaboration on the road between them is not out of the question to me.
I was a highwayman
Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
and I am still alive

If anyone is old enough to remember Jack Pennington, ask him about Casey's ability behind the wheel. I think he is the first big name to ever give him the credit he deserves?????
-
He would be solid on a tour. I don't see him winning multiple races, but he would definitely be a top 5-10 runner every night.
I think he would do better on the outlaw compared to lucas.

Probably do well at many of the tracks and struggle some on the slick places. Senoia is one of the few places in the south, that's as slick as some of the Midwest tracks.

Actually the way that is edited you would think he's talking about Casey, but at the point in the broadcast I'm pretty sure he was actually referencing Lance Landers and his plans for next year.
At least that's how I remember it.
