If they add anything it should be USMTS Mods, or a Deery Brothers IMCA type Latemodel show. I love Knoxville but lean toward I-80 SDN as a bit better show for the $$$.

Agree USMTS or USRA A-Mods would be good or some form of Late Models. Regardless of what we say it doesn't matter? Only 56 cars felt they wanted to go to Knoxville this year.

Like said several times above. Blame the lower car count on the race being so close to Eldora. I know of a few guys in my area that have talked about going. Its not that easy having to come home from Eldora on Sunday, washing and prepping the car in 2 days so you can leave again on Tuesday. It doesn't help when the crew and drivers have jobs also.
Move it back a couple of weeks, and we'll see 60-70 cars easy.

All I know is in the Upper Midwest car counts are down. Cedar Lake had 41 cars for $50,000 to win, I believe I-80 had about 55 cars for $50,000 to win and Knoxville had 56 cars for $40,000 to win. These $6000 and $7000 To Win races are not atracting cars that they run on the 1st night. Just a suggestion but how about 2 Nights of $10,000 To Win full 50 lap A-Mains for regular pay with the Top 8 or 10 locked into Night 3 A-Man. $30,000 or $40,000 To Win Night 3 and $3000 or $4000 To Start. Also a Non-Qualifier Main paying $3000 or $4000 To Win and $750 To Start. Charge Fans $100 for 3 Nights instead of $85 and see what happens. Just a opinion?

Night 1 and 2
$10,000 To Win, 5500,4000,3250,2750,2250,2000,1800,1600,1500,1400, 1300,1200,1100, $1000 To Start. $49,650.00 Night 1 and 2.
Night 3 (Top 10 locked in)
3-20 lap B-Mains (Top 4 to A-Main)
1-20 lap LC Qualifier (Top 2 to A-Main)
Provisionals ?
A-Main Pay-Out
$40,000 To Win, 20,000,15,000,12,500,10,000,8500,7000,6000,5500,50 00,4750,4500,4350,4200,4100, $4000 To Start
$195,400.00
$294,700.00 (3 Day Purse) 7000 Fans for 3 nights @ $15 extra = $105,000.00 extra.
SEEMS TO WORK FOR ME, WONDER WHAT THE DRIVERS WOULD SAY?

Buy the way, I see no reason for a support class being there's 5 races on Night 3.

You might find this as a shock. But I agree with you. I think pumping some more money into purse. Tweak the format alittle. As much as I love the Knoxville format, it's just not a late model format. Im already paying $85 for weekend. $100 won't bother me especially if I see some more racing.

I think the end of September would be perfect obviously some schedules have to be rearranged. Knoxville up until this year was like a destination race for some. Guys like Kerry King, Jared Hawkins, Michael Smith have come. I believe one of John Masons last races was at Knoxville.

Wow, $85 or $100 makes no difference.

Those would be good options.

I agree spread the darn purses out to make it more attractive to drivers. try that before adding more classes. Most of these are three day shows, that costs tons for teams to participate with little return on most nights. a team can compete in a regional show, get first or second but would need to finish in the top 7 or 8 often at big shows to make the same $$$.

Well before you go there, know that Knoxville is not that race. They pay 40k 20k 10k to the top 3, ten still gets 5k 18th gets 3k and 30th (yes they start 30) gets 2500.

First they need to go back to late September or early October. Then you get car count back to around 70 and have more qualifying races Saturday night. I really like their format of no heats on Saturday so I hope they never change it. Very unique format, one of a kind. I don't think many would be opposed to seeing A-Mods there especially if it was a USMTS event. Raising the purse is always great but they really need to go back to a late September date before anything else.
