Upper 50s during race time. Pretty good chance of rain around 10:30 per The Weather Channel.

There's a big mess of rain coming out of Iowa now. It's on track to hit in 3-4 hours unless it somehow breaks up.

You never know about Fairbury. We have had some miracle breaks and other times we have been bitten by rain. Guess we will find out

From the FALS Facebook page: "UPDATE: as of right now, we are still racing, but there is another system coming around 2:00. Not sure we can handle much more rain, but we do have “The Best Track Crew”! We will continue to keep you posted as it develops. In the meantime I need all us race fans to plead with Mother Nature to let us get this race in! Guaranteed to get “Falsy” tonight!"

60% Chance of rain between 1 PM and 5 PM then the chances of precip drop to 30% after midnight. Hopefully the amount of rain coming across the river and heading for Fairbury won't amount to enough to wash out the event.

Looks like that big area of rain heading straight for the track is getting weaker by the minute. Looks like light rain that might last a while. It's not over yet!!

Oh well. At least now I can watch IndyCar and the Clean Air 400 from Kansas later tonight.

Well crap!! We have a wedding to go to on August 11th.

We had decided against going to Mighty Macon for the POWRi Midgets in lieu of the late model show at Fairbury. I guess we'll change our plans and pain our way through all the support classes at Macon.

Oh well, it's nice to have options!

If you are a true race fan is it really that much torture to sit thru the support classes? Some I dont much care for either but for the love of the game I deal with it...

Go back and read the 2nd and 3rd paragraph of post #16.................again! It will become clear that "for the love of the game" we are in fact going to head down to Macon. The problem is we've "dealt with it" way too many times and it's always seems good ol' Mighty Macon is one of the worst. That having been said, what you do with your time and cash is purely none of our business, and vice-versa.

And trust me, our group is made up of "true race fans".

Very good suggestion, Clay!! I'll have to speak to the bride in regards to a more suitable date for her nuptials! LOL!!
