I thought just about all race purses are paid for by the fans minus pit passes teams have to pay.

The Dirt Million name was a little misleading, at first, until the details were announced. The goal was to get the total purse to one million dollars, not the pay to win. I don't think they'll get close to that. But a $200k to win and $3,500 to start purse isn't anything to sneeze at.

Some come on here and cry about promoters not promoting and this guy is doing just that promoting this event. I don't think he has ever said the race paid 1 million to win and your right that is nothing to sneeze at.
