Pretty much sums up the state of late model racing for the weekly guy.

Pretty much the same thing in the lower divisions. The amount of work is the same. The pit fees are the same. The fuel tab for the tow vehicle is the same. The highs and lows are the same. The parts tab certainly are lower but the purses are more than proportionately lower and any sponsorship a racer might get sure doesn't equal the big boys. The guys who rely on their buddies for pit crews find fewer and fewer friends who can, or will, shell out $40 or more bucks for the "glory" of burnt fingers and working on a hot, greasy race car when the lawn at home needs mowing and Junior and Sissy wonder why they never see their dad at the soccer games. This sport isn't for the faint hearted now and never was.

I thought Daryle Singletary sang that song? Remember when journalists used to check their facts?

Right, that was before the internet made everyone a journalist!
