Dennis Erb, Jr. Heads East to Lernerville for Firecracker 100 Weekend

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing will rejoin the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series schedule on June 21-22, as the national touring series will take the team east to the storied Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania for the 13th edition of the ‘Firecracker 100.’ With rain already wiping out tonight’s $6,000 to win weekend opener, action will kick off at the Keystone State venue on Friday evening with a $6,000 to win preliminary event.

The two-day extravaganza at Lernerville Speedway will then culminate on Saturday night, as heat races, consolation events, the Uncle Sam 30 for non-qualifiers, and the 100-lap headliner will thrill the huge crowd that will be in attendance for the annual mega-event. As is the norm, a whopping $30,000 top prize will be on the line for the victor of the ‘Firecracker 100.’ Dennis Erb, Jr. comes into Lernerville seventh in the heated WOOLMS point standings. Dennis and his #28 team are coming off a rain-soaked week in their home state of Illinois, which saw them only get one race into the record books with the DIRT Summer Nationals from June 12-16. At Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois last Thursday night, Dennis ran second in his heat race and was battling for a top five in the $5,000 to win main event when motor issues with only 13 laps to go relegated the Carpentersville, Illinois standout to a disappointing seventeenth place showing.

On Friday evening at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois, Dennis timed in second fastest in his group during the qualifying session prior to picking up a convincing heat race triumph. After drawing the pole for the feature and putting himself in prime position to do battle for the $10,000 payday, Mother Nature again intervened and postponed the A-Main to Monday, July 8.
