I met some friends at the world who were from eastern ky. they told me that the breeding's are going to reopen the 201 speedway next year. neat place. there probably isn't another track like it.

Spoon is great track. If you go for a big show just be sure to get something to eat on the way. The food service is ungodly slow.

I believe it’s also a dry county if I remember correctly

Only once but Brown County, Aberdeen, SD. Eagle Speedway in Nebraska although they don’t run lates often last I knew. Some of the hidden “gems” were hidden too well as some are closed; Paducah (seeing Feger there in his prime was a show in itself), West Liberty Iowa (does some local specials still), Adrian Missouri. Agree with Lee County Iowa, seldom a bad show, be on time because that crew runs a show promptly. Spoon is usually good racing. Highland, IL I thought was good the times been there, if the racing isn’t so great there’s always the crowd, they’re passionate. I55 Missouri although wouldn't call it unknown.
I hate time trials.

Shame
It certainly was in the 70s and 80s, maybe a little into the 90s, but now it is gone from the list of must-see places, IMO.

Spoon is carry in your own cooler. They have size restrictions and charge you either 5 or 10 bucks every time you bring it in

ABC Raceway in Ashland WI...
Once per year late models on their gumbo red clay track coming up this weekend.
Red Clay Classic.
Great event.

Salina Highbanks Raceway in Salina, Oklahoma. Not totally unknown, but that's one awesome track. I would like to see a WOO or Lucas show there and Deviil's Bowl in Mesquite, TX in the same weekend.

They don't have to be total no name joints or events. But I like what has been posted a lot.
Guerilla Racing Junkies.
Shovel on a little more coal, then when we cross white oak mountain, watch 97 roll!
The problem is the gall dang motors.

One of my favorite hidden gems is coming up quickly, the Race for the Kids at County Line Raceway in North Carolina, it's not a SLM race anymore, not that it matters much at that track. FUEL, I95 Challenge co sanctioned.

ABC raceway is a great one.

Got another one. Sprint car track Lincoln Park in Indiana. They run mods also on the weekly show but non wing sprints is their deal. Cool setting in the trees. Track and pits sit below the seating area.
-
Deer Creek Speedway in SE Minnesota and Cedar Lake Speedway never disappoint.
