It's no secret that Josh has been good their but those stats really send it home. Pretty impressive considering he hasn't had as many starts as alot of the others near the top

Dirt Track World Championship Tidbits

-There have been 25 different drivers win the DTWC since it began in 1981

-This is the 8th straight year the DTWC has been held at Portsmouth Raceway Park

-This is the 5th straight year the DTWC has paid $100,000 to the winner

-Josh Richards (2017 and 2018) and Scott Bloomquist (2014 and 2015) are the only 2 drivers in the history of the event to win the race in back-to-back years. Richards can become the first driver to win the race 3 times in a row with a victory this year. In his two DTWC wins Richards started 5th in both races.

-Best Performance Motorsports based in St, Mary’s, Ohio (186 miles from Portsmouth) has won the last 3 DTWC’s. They have won with Brandon Sheppard (2016) and Josh Richards (2017 and 2018). Randall Edwards has been the crew chief for all 3 of the previous wins.

-Shannon Thornsberry is the 2019 Late Model track champion at PRP.

-Late Model feature winners this year at Portsmouth include R.J. Conley (5), Steve Casebolt (3) and one each for Jonathan Davenport, Mike Marlar, Shannon Thornsberry, Jackie Boggs and Josh Bocook.

-Of the top 12 in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points Standings only Josh Richards, Jimmy Owens and Earl Pearson Jr. have ever won the DTWC.

-Expected entrants Jackie Boggs, Devin Moran, Billy Moyer Jr., Hudson O’Neal and Audie Swartz will try to join their DTWC winning father’s as the only father-son duo to ever win the DTWC.

-With a win Brandon Sheppard would become the first driver in dirt late model racing history to win 3 races that paid a minimum of $100,000 to win in a single season. His other $100K plus wins this year came at the Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway and the Dirt Million at Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio.
