American Ethanol Late Model Tour...
As of now the only dates I’ve seen posted anywhere is Tri-City Motor Speedway(Auburn, MI) opener and Merritt’s Woodtic. Curious to see if they will reign in on the distance it’ll cover as last year they only had 3 teams follow the entire tour. Also the opener at Tri City Motor Speedway is only 2,500 to win when the last 2 years all AELMT races were 4,000+ to win. Really hope this tour doesn’t fold up for the northern Midwest guys as not many tour come through the Michigan, northern Illinois, northern Ohio and northern Indiana area.

The Ethanol series needs a 15 race schedule.
Merritt 3 races (including Woodtic)
I-96 3 races (host season championship race)
Hartford 2 races
Tri-City 2 races
Thunderbird 2 races
Winston 1 race
Butler 1 race (or a co-sanctioned race with ALMS @ Oakshade)
Plymouth 1 race
-
tracks around here aren't going to keep paying big $$ to get the same 15 cars that show up every Saturday or Friday night for a local show, also looks like there will be another change with Scott Menlen the tour director taking the GM job with Nashville fairgrounds speedway

You won’t see a race at Plymouth anytime soon. Just a hunch.

I96 has also dumped UMP late models so I doubt you see them on the schedule anytime soon.

The series took a giant step backwards with the departure of Nick Rice IMO

Why no cosanction mars/ethanol races.
-
You wont see them at Butler. Bob is to smart for that series and the late models.

I was wondering the same thing. I thing Hartford being the closest track to where the MARS Series races with be a thought. Even tagged Hartford in a couple of Facebook post on the MARS Series page.

Guess I got my answer. What a bummer. Might be the nail in the coffin for UMP in Michigan. Down to 1 Friday track and 1 Saturday track and no series.... not good.
-
Modified tour is done also. But wasn't it originally the Michigan Dirt cup tour though.

Butler is hosting a summernationals race this year. If that goes as well as the ethanol race they had a while back, the dirt will be full of rocks, it will start two hours late, they wont run heats, and they will cut the feature laps in half. I wish sam would have been smart enough not to schedule there, its going to be a disaster.
-
That's what I was wondering how they were able to get that. Are they desperate for tracks to put on the tour
-
Not to mention Butler and MMRP are neck and neck for the least racey track in the state
-
they are to cease operation immediately from what I'm seeing on rpm
-
Late models at butler should be better this year if they keep the track the same as last year. Mods should put on a hell of a feature once they weed out all the crap that will showing up that night
