Then that is a problem. Back in the day, drivers' meetings were for drivers. They would call the roll, or you had to sign in. If you didn't come, you started in the rear. Heather should go if she wants, but she should be going with her driver.

They tech the top 3. If you’re not sure, you just pay attention to whatever the second and third place cars are doing. You don’t just go back to the hauler.

Definitely unfortunate, and I don't think WOO did this to help Sheptard, but be certain they were happy to hand that win to the series pony-boy and his old man.

Congratulations to Dennis tough break getting dqed, like others said I've been to a few drivers meeting that dennis has been at and its heather there not him. Plus if you read DOD they said that they were changing the way they do things. Its definitely on dennis not woo.

Just watched both videos on Dirt On Dirt.
Sounds like a miscommunication. Casey Shuman did say it wasn't technically a DQ Dennis did however get last place points and money. Crap happens and move on to tonight's events. As good as he's been all so far this week it wouldn't surprise me to see him contend for another win and possibly get one. He and Sheppard have consistently been the two best cars at Volusia this week. Dennis keeps on working and figuring out that car he will be very good this year. Stuff happens and move on. Seems like the most logical thing to do.

In the future after the podium pictures the 3 cars should be escorted to the "Tech area" by officials 1 in front and 1 behind that way no one gets lost along the way and no changes are made.

How many times at drivers meetings there are 1001 people there that shouldn't be there talking so you can't here everything (drivers only should be there, not every crew member), poor microphones and speakers that you can't barely hear, the people that shouldn't be there talking , so again driver's can't hear everything, etc., etc.. Then the inconsistencies of where and what to do every night. Everything should be checked at the scales and when a driver crosses the scale and is told to go to victory lane as the winner, he is the winner, especially if they were only checking droop and tires, which again should have been done in the scaling area. If anything else needed to be checked after victory lane a WoO official ( and there is enough of them around) should have been at that car the whole time in victory lane and then guided to the tech area, so that way no one can touch/alter the car before reaching tech. This is all on WoO and Dennis got screwed.

i have to agree, if they are taking pics and then going to tech, an official should stay with the car until after it is inspected, if not 40lbs or more of weight could be added very easy by the crew, 20 pounds x 4 guys is 80 and easy to do
-
Whole situation stinks IMO. Simple as that

I believe he was on the podium monday night, but tech last night was not held in the same place as it was monday. He took a $9300 penalty for missing the drivers meeting, essentially.

how would adding weight in victory lane help. He went across the scales before he went to victory lane. And your dead wrong about all checking gets done at the scales. It's common practice to cross the scales then go to victory lane and then go to post race tech. Bottom line everything was covered in the driver's meeting witch he was probably not at. People talking is a piss poor excuse and nothing but that. if your unclear on something you go up and ask after the meeting or raise your hand and ask. But you gotta be their to do that And yes i know for a fact it was announced at the meeting. Sucks it happened to him. But it wasn't anyone's fault but his and heather's.

well said HDF , and for the drivers meeting being just for drivers , even though i agree , those days are gone , even on a regular sat night show , about half the drivers show up so at these big shows , probably 1/4 show up in person , never met mr erb , but have kept up with him some what and he seems like my kind of fellow , but as has been said , sh!t happens.........

Drivers were instructed to go to the World of Outlaws Command Center for tire samples. Dennis unfortunately didn't show up.

general statement on the weight thing, and it sounds like you have it all figured out

Very good point, Josh. But Brandon and Darrell have well staffed crews who are taking care of every last detail on their cars while they’re attending the drivers meetings. That is a luxury that Dennis doesn’t share. Food for thought.

I agree with Bayko on post #23.

Here's what the rule book says under section 5.2
5.2 – Drivers’ Meeting(s)
A. All drivers must attend the drivers’ meeting. Drivers in violation of not attending the Drivers’ Meeting could face a fine, loss of
driver’s points, owner’s points and/or suspension.
-
Lanigan fails droop rule after qualifying and is only docked 3 starting spots. Now how is that fair to the other drivers that passed it. If you fail you should start rear of the heat. This is where the WRG and WoO have their head up their
a $$ .
