The astericks next to the drivers name are whom I speculate will be @ Lernerville this weekend. Of course, there are some I am missing, but these are the 79 drivers who have run main events during the Firecracker weekend since 2015.
Pretty crappy that half these drivers won't be there to compete this weekend from all likelihood, thanks Lucas !
Ya know, last night Eshelman and his broadcast partner mentioned something about the four track owners of eastern Tennessee getting together and coming up with a schedule that benefited all four tracks so that they would not be running special shows on the same weekend and they came up with a schedule that would make it very feasible for their respective fan bases and for those who wanted to travel to see their favorite drivers compete. Too bad one of these national series can't do the same, this has always been the Firecracker weekend !
-
And a resounding YES, the opinions that I express here are totally my own, a 60 year dirt late model fan who has spent thousands of dollars to watch THE best dirt late model drivers compete !
-
Ahhhh, Montana this one is not on lucas but more so about the virus. It's not the last race of the year someone is going to schedule against. WRG and Lucas both I'm sure have sponsor commitments that there going to need to satisfy. They've reduced the laps for this year's firecracker to 50, the Uncle Sam race, which was a great idea for the locals to collect some cash has been dropped, which I think is going to really hurt the slm count. The crate race is paying 10 grand for 50 laps so your going to see 40 to 60 crate guys come in for that one. I would not be surprised to see if there is last minute changes as to what's going on with this year's firecracker.

Good stuff as always. See you have Jacob Hawkins as a possible for Lernerville. Doubt that will happen, Car owner sold his fleet of Bloomers to Mike Benedum. Supposedly Eric Hudkins ordered new Rockets for his team. Believe it when I see it.
-
There’s going to be tons of overlapping schedules the later we get in the season. Just hope we’re back to normal in 2021.
-
Ahhh yourself dirt crazy, go check the revised Lernerville schedule on their website, they state that the Uncle Sam 30 is still running, and since you brought up the virus. how would u feel if the WoO series would schedule a doubleheader on 12-15 of August against the North-South 100 to keep Bloomer, Sheppard, and Madden from competing in it ? That probably would be blasphemy to alot of racing fans, kinda " dilute " the show a little, wouldn't it ? But no worries, the N/S 100 is going up against the Summernationals this year and if Bobby is running in the S/N he won't be at Florence. But yes, this pandemic has caused us DLM fans alot of bulls*it this year, and Pennsboro is right, a vaccine would be a welcome relief in the next 6-8 months, so let's pray something " good " happens for everyone and we can " finally " all get back to some normalcy in this country !

not expecting a big car count. There you go everyone.
-
Lol u guys act like there are a lot of local cars anyway that run the firecracker.
-
Gossip on another site has some saying the Firectacker race has been cut to 50 laps and the Uncle Sam 30 has been dropped from the event.
Anyone confirm this?

Yes, the Firecracker is 50 laps $30,000 to win and there will be no Uncle Sam 30
-
That uncle Sam race gave guys a chance to put some dollars in there pockets instead of loading up an heating to the
Shop.

I’m guessing they also reduced the ticket prices then? There may be less cars but I bet the place is still packed with fans.

The firecracker 50 is a late model race, no one buys a ticket to watch crate non qualifier.

There will be more crates there than supers so there will be people hanging around to watch it.
-
Yea the ones that want the parking lots to clear out. My guess is 35 slm are going to show up. They already no that with the lucas drivers not being able to come they are not going to see a strong field. Unless, will that open the door for guys like Jackie boggs to show up. It will be interesting. The crate people cannot accept that they can't put people in the seats to watch them race, I don't care what it pays. Never could, never will. Yea some will say, it's the better race, and it mite be. The knowledgeable fan wants to see name drivers, wheeling slm's not a no name with a restricted motor. The big factor again this year is weather, rain, rain and more rain. I love mud.
-
Well it's supposed to be a nice weekend and Jackie Boggs hasn't ventured further north than Atomic Speedway in years so to be on the safe side you better stay home.
