I don't believe the Millwood ride was ever intended to be a permanent deal. That was just one of his long time supporters giving him a car to run the Ray Cook deal. Just a fill in until he got something permanent. Chris has stepped out and tried some different deals the last couple of years, but the fact that his long time supporters (and now Drydene) stay with him should tell you a little something.
Weiss might have something else to say about that. My opinion. Madden is impressive in being with his 3rd team of the year, while keeping the sponsorship of the previous 2 teams! Don't remember that happening without family $
No doubt. Anyone should feel very fortunate to get a ride nowadays but three?
When you have a bunch of sponsor backing, doors open. Plus, he's pretty good, but that isn't enough.
I don't see what's so hard to understand. Scott or Cody wanted him to drive the 0 while Scott was out. He won everything in sight. Things didn't go right this year and he left. After he left the Millwoods who have sponsored Chris for years, and who he has helped develop as a driver asked him to drive the Southern Nats. It was probably just an incentive to help Tyler because he wanted to run the series. The Rum Runner deal I'm sure is not a permanent gig. They are probably just wanting him to run the big shows the rest of the year.
If I was a betting man I would say Chris has a couple of cars ordered and he's just filling the gap with other rides until he gets them. I would say he's going to be driving for himself again soon.
