Well if they are running the crate it is the GM 602 crate, but guys building motors can run any brand.
Trying to balance the big 3 crates against each other is and will always be a challenge. The GM and Ford that would compete vs each other aren't equal in any way, CID, HP, TQ, weight, or the end price.
I've never been a huge fan of the street stock divisions but this series seems to place emphasis on stock appearing and using as many OEM components as is possible. I like that they aren't allowing for the right front to hang out a bunch farther than the right rear and they don't allow components that jack the left rear up under acceleration like the late models. These are an interesting class of racecar's but I'm a bit confused with the engine options. I'm sure I'm the one who is creating the confusion in my own mind but it seems a bit convoluted to me.
Maybe some of you guys that might be involved with this class of cars can help me out.
