$7,500 to win Sunday at Cherokee
Carolina Clash at Cherokee
I’m surprised to not see this race on WoO travelers’ schedules since Gaffney is so close to their Saturday night event.
Who else can we expect to see at Cherokee??
Madden
Overton
Ferguson
Bailes
Mitchell
Ben Watkins, new to the 79 Billy Hicks ride
Michael Brown
Hamm
Rambo
Pursley
Henderson
Who else?

Sweet May have to go to that

With the track newly reconfigured and the Outlaws on the schedule in 4 weeks I would have expected the Outlaws to show up to get a feel for the new configuration. Even Darrell Lanigan in the Barry Wright car does not have this race on his schedule. Nor do recent Cherokee winners Brandon Sheppard or Dale McDowell.
-
I expect that list to grow. No outlaw race that day
-
No touring incentives. No guaranteed tow money and no free pit passes.

What have they done to the track? I have missed seeing that.

It’s a good weekend in the Carolinas for late model racing. Blue Ridge late models are in East Lincoln this Saturday night as well.
-
And $2,000 to win llm at Laurens, a reward for the quality teams that have begun showing up.
Add Trent Ivey, Anthony Sanders, Doug Sanders to the Cherokee list.
Also Probable: Collins, Connor, Ricky Weeks, Dixon

Turns one and two have been greatly widened and banking increased with transitions and some more banking at entry to turn one. Lots of video of the changes on their FB page. The inside wall was brought inward 15-20” in one and two. There seem to be multiple grooves for racing and a more sweeping feel to it, less abrupt.
-
Sounds like some good changes. Hope it works out. I wonder if Ross Bailes will like those changes?

If weather is an issue that weekend, the makeup date for WOO is probably that Sunday. Just saying they still might show up.

Add Jeff Smith, Cla Knight

Never seen anything like the show the 11 put on. Incredible.
-
A home made chassis walked the dog! He said he was going 70%. Back end almost never slid.
-
That was a Rumley 2015 or Bloomer 2014 type performance from the 11 car. I don’t think I’ve seen a car that glued. He made Overton and Bailes look average at Cherokee which is not the case at all
-
Kirkpatrick has been fast in qualifying at Cherokee before, but he put the whole night together last night. He said that the car/chassis has to make up for his lack of talent as a driver, but he drove a good race. Out dueled Overton on the first lap and drove away from him, including restarts. Not many have done that this year. Handled traffic well. Good win for him in front of a packed house.
-
How was the dust last night? It was brutal for the Lucas race a few months back.
-
Where I was sitting at in turn one, it was not bad.
