Broke another motor. Has a backup but it said they'll probably head home. Didn't bring a backup car either. Ok...

And how many guys do you think have 2cars in the hauler? You'd probably be surprised.

This is like going to Thailand with only 20 baht and 1 condom. Unprepared!

Actually Feger and Heckenast both ran the entire Summernationals with only one car.

I'm not getting pithy with you but that is not true. A National series yes. Other than that, probably 50/50. And I don't consider the SN a National tour. Most have a backup but not necessarily in the hauler.

Summer Nationals is very rough on equipment.

maybe, but is the risk worth it? most guys freshen motors around 1000 laps give or take, if nothing is wrong your looking at $3000 to $5000 vs having a lapped out motor come apart which could destroy a $50,000+ motor. Sometimes you gotta look at the bigger picture.

Depends on the money backing. And with Shirley you'd think they'd have one at a $50k race. $60k if you include one of the qualifiers. But whatever.

Most don't expire like a carton of milk. Just lose some power. I know of a few exceptions however.
