Lawrenceburg was one of the best DAY races I ever saw! It was one hellofa race!!
Oh, and my pick is Port Royal!

Seems like if I was Lucas Oil I'd have it on my own turf at Lucas Oil Speedway.

Maybe there was a little talking behind the scenes to a team or 2 and maybe that's the way they wanted the track lol....I had a buddy that use to work at a track that lucas and woo came to and he said they had to prep the track to there liking...it was always a hammer down 3 wide track until lucas or woo came and guess what it was like at there races....TRAIN RACE everytime

Theres no such thing as a hammer down 3 wide track.

Not anymore. These cars use too much track and dirty the air too bad.

I agree 100%. I mean why not? Great facility and they usually only run one support class when the Lucas Oil series comes there.

The DTWC belongs to Carl Short, Lucas has no say over where he holds his race.

PRP needs some new clay but with flooding almost every year it would mess up the new clay too.
If the banking was a bit higher at the top it could catch up to the bottom better and make for more racing grooves.
With all that much racing though, the track really needed cut up completely at least four or five inches deep friday night after the racing and then well watered. And to to keep the track together better it would then need a lot of rolling and packing.
PRP is one of my favorite tracks.
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention!

Lucas Oil couldn't hold that type of event without him?

Sure, they could. They bought the Show Me and killed it though.

Buying the Show Me and then moving it to a larger facility and then cutting the purse was just not right.

I agree with you except for a few DTWC's... the one Babb won at Bardstown was fantastic, and the one he won at Atomic (KC Raceway) was top 5 race Ive ever seen... Babb and Bloomquist were side by side at war for the last 45 laps.... it was outstanding.... both races had TONS of rain for days and days prior to the race... non of the PRP races have been worth a crap.... Pennsboro was Pennsboro...
We are all crying on deaf ears... Carl Short doesn't give a crap about the fans... he never has and he never will. He only cares about how fat his wallet gets... he is the only promotor to charge full weekend price if you show up Thursday, Friday, or Saturday... If you are a working individual and can just get there for Saturday's portion, you pay what everyone paid on Friday... he doesn't change the price, and that is a (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) joke!!!!!!

From what I read , the DTWC was quite an exciting race until Rocket Shepp got the lead. Rocket Shepp did not start on the front row and had to race hard to get the lead. Once a driver put on a drive like that , you like to see him take the win knowing that a cut tire or a broken part could take him out. Ricky Thornton Jr dogged him until the end. The race was far from boring to me. With the current aerodynamics of the SLM race cars it is hard to keep a track wet for 100 laps. The air blown on the track from the aerodynamics of the race cars really dry out a track after 50 or 60 laps. Still, 100 laps races are fun because of the uncertainty of all cars completing 100 laps.
