Bloomquist in an IMCA this Weekend in Las Vegas?
I do not come on here as much, so it may have already been mentioned. He ran 3rd in the 2nd heat and 17th in the feature. Ricky Thornton Jr won the 10th heat and the feature. Jack Sullivan won the stock car feature and 16th in the 3rd Mod feature.

Bloomquist in Las Vegas. There's a train wreck waiting to happen.
-
He was very fast. He started last in the heat race, and someone got turned sideways infront of him. Had to come to a complete stop, no caution was thrown, and he still ran them down and finished 3rd. I didn't catch the consi or feature though.
-
Without the hiccup at the start of his heat race, which he didn’t cause, he likely would have won that heat. Driving a car prepped by Zane DeVilbiss.
I hate time trials.

Thanks for the results. How many mod features did they run ? Good to see Bloomquist getting it on in a mod.

There were 24 IMCA Modified Heats, 4 B's, and 2 separate A's. Along with the separate Sportmod and Stock car fields. You can follow along https://duelvegas.com/ as well as on XR with the live streaming.

Thanks much for the sites following the Duel in the Desert. Much appreciated. I see Bloomquist gets closer to winning a feature as each night passes. He finished 4 in his feature Friday night. I suspect he has enough points to make the big show on Saturday.
-
The updated link now shows him 4th in points. Why is there such a turnout for this event car wise, just an excuse to go to Vegas? I got buddies that play in the national dart tourney out there and that’s all it is for them.

I think also because most tracks are done, it’s pretty prestigious, and you can race a lot at one track.
Oh, and gambling, hookers, drinking, and drugs.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.
-
No desire to go there as a married man, none.
Mine as well leave the divorce papers on the table as I leave. Wrong head will win.

What's not to like about Nevada this time of the year?

I love Bloomer. (Even with his odd ways and personal issues)
-
It’s kinda like the Boone, Iowa IMCA Nationals. It’s clearly not just about the size of the purse. Year or two back recall first being just under $8000.
I hate time trials.

Everyone enjoys Vegas. It's something different than what most have at home, especially in the beginning of winter. It's about the last chance to get one more show in and against the country's best in their class. A Mod main Saturday pays $10K, Sport Mods and Stock Cars each pay $5K so it's a very nice payout. Plus it's a real happening. I've been a few times, just spectating, and it's a worthwhile trip, although sometimes colder than a witch's, uh, bosom.

Today is his birthday also

That would qualify him for the free birthday surf and turf at the chicken ranch.

From their FB page. They will have Late Models next year as well.
The 2021 Duel in the Desert will showcase Super Late Models. Crown Jewel Style. Details to come.
-
Wasn't this event during the same weekend as the Nascar race or was that in the spring and not fall?
