Pro Power engines
Is anyone on either of the national tours still running a Pro Power engine? They used to power so many cars on tour but now you rarely see them.

Tmac did. Not sure about this year.

I remember Tmac running them in the Sweeteners Plus car a couple years ago. Since he got in Bradsher’s car last year they have run Cornetts.

Tmac switched in the later part of 2019. He was struggling (by his standards)before switching. If I remember correctly, I think he started running Cornett engines? He ran better late that year after switching, but I don't know if that's all he changed.
I believe Heckenast mentioned Pro power in one of his interviews this week.

I almost forgot. Shep in his own car.

Seems like Clements and Cornett are the hot thing now. What happened to Durham that everyone and their brother wanted 2 years ago and now are basically irrelevant on the national tours?

I don't remember if it was last year or the year before but someone told me it was a 3-4 month wait for a Clements

Pierce had Vic Hill engines this week, I dont know what he had in Arizona. He did run pro power stuff a couple years ago.
There were several in the pit area this week, just not many in touring guys that I can remember.
Feger used them last year

I think Andy was arrested a couple years ago so maybe that hurt his business. Just speculation.

Durham has spent the most of his time recently developing the sprint car 400ci engine for Ford and Tony Stewart. Shepp, T Erb , Shirley and I think Heckenast still running them, may be others.

Dennis Erb Jr. hasn't been with Pro Power for a while. Last Time I talk to him he was using either Vic Hill or Clements engines and that was last year.

He's not working on the sprint car motor anymore

I think Erb is using both Clements and Vic Hill

Yea I know they are in Stewart's and Schatz's cars. He didn't develop those in a month.

They have somebody else building them now. Durham isn't invoked anymore

Fwiw; schatz has Shaver racing engines on his car.

This might carry the thread in a different direction but I'm too lazy to start a new one. I watched the WWSO and there were still a bunch of Pro Power cars in the field. That being said I also drifted over to Chili Bowl coverage and seen how many TRD engines are in midgets. I looked at online sources and seen these little fours can fetch $40,000 and up, maybe towards $60k. Wow!
So now I see where TRD is going to try and make their way into sprint car engines, much like Tony Stewart and Ford Racing did in the last year or two. So, once TRD makes it into sprints, and you know they will, how far behind is a dirt late model TRD engine?
Ponder that. Thoughts?
Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.
-
Doesn't Kenny Wallace run a TRD in his dirt modified ? There are Toyotas running in the Late Model Pro Series asphalt racing series. They must be running the Nascar TRD V8.
