Yes, Jay still races although I do not think as much these days.

I would have to agree with the big Johnson. The t shirts were cool, in the society today I doubt they’d get away with printing half of what was on them back then.

Original.......that takes too much time for the kids to pronounce these days,so it's OG.
A few more decades and it will be down to grunts and finger snaps
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Very true Barbecueboy. I remember attending Carolina Clash races in the mid 2000s and over half the field would have Starrett trucking on their cars in prime sponsorship locations. I think Modoc still has a Jack Starrett memorial race each year so glad to see his name still lives on.

I've spent some time with Mr. And Mrs cushman and had the pleasure of breaking bread with them at various tracks..... but never got to speak to or know Mr. Starrette .....I've heard the stories and some of the driver testimonials about his friendship and support and saw all the same sponsorship graphics on these cars as you did.
Two great supporting families of the sport no doubt.

Jay is still winning races. Saw him win one against a nice field at Donnellson, IA last October.

Good to hear. He was a main stay at Eldora for years at the big shows, and made several of them. Never was a contender for a win, but was always solid enough to make show.

Stronger than dirt
3 good ones you mentioned there. Great sponsors for Dale McDowell(Dover), Skip ARP (Curtis) and Christenberry Trucking &Farms for Freddie Smith. I do believe Ralph Curtis and Clayton Christenberry were also the car owners. Dover cylinder Heads was owned by Dale and Shane McDowell’s mother & step father and was a big supporter of the McDowell brothers.

Mesilla Valley Transportation is definitely worthy of a mention, they've got late models and alot of sprint cars they support.
