Which Race
I am going to both World 100's this year. But I would like to add one more major race to the year. What is your first pick?
-
Cedar Lake Nationals, good venue with lots of side activities available in a picturesque setting. Good fans too.
I hate time trials.
-
PDC, or Hillbilly 100 3 day weekend.

Maybe that thread didnt have enough replies unrelated to racing.

Me either. Hopefully somebody will tell us why it was deleted. I was looking forward to reading it this morning.

My vote is PDC hands down. Find me another dirt track in the country where they allow you to park on an elementary school lawn... that just shows how much the town is behind the track. I've never been a big fan on knoxville's format with no heats on saturday but it is a cool place to go. Honestly having their weekly 410 show with the late models would be a huge plus imo

From the mid west racing events I have attended......USA Nationals, Knoxville LM Nationals or Silver Dollar Nationals.

I say the Hillbilly 100 too. Every fan needs to experience Tyler County at least once.

USA Nationals vote for me too. I enjoyed my first trip there last year as much as any race ive attended in 30+ years. Not just the race, but the entire area blew me away. Awesome beer (spotted cow) and local food. Trout fished for the first time as well. Many other things i didnt do that i am gonna try to squeeze in this year. If this year is anything like last year.. it will prolly become an annual trip for me.
Honorable mention for The World Finals at Charlotte. The town/area doesnt really have any character cause its basically in the city.. but among the three classes of cars (Outlaw Sprints, Latemodels, BigBlock Mods).. theres alot of racing. A good event to end the year on and hold ya over till the next year.

Are you staying in a motor home/camper or staying at a hotel/motel? Could have a bearing on what venue to visit.

Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80
1. Track is rarely one lane
2. Format of passing points and draw for double heats (fast guys are gonna have to start in the back in at least one heat race
3. Heat race day, the track will be anywhere from hammer down to fairly slick
4. There are 4 races over the 5 days: 7K, 7K, 30K, and the 2 day 53K
5. The groove generally moves around thru the night and during the races which can make for an entertaining races
Cons: it can be fairly hot and not much shade

Knoxville would be my choice. It doesn't disappoint!

Any race at Tazewell Tennessee.
The North South 100.
-
if you haven't been this direction for a race, make the trip
knoxville lm nationals: Incredible racing on a big track
I-80 silver dollar nationals: great show built by a legendary racing family
And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, well, I have really good days - Ray Wylie Hubbard

Thank you for your input everyone. At this point I am leaning toward Fairbury.
