Listened to the one of the recent DoD podcasts and this post reminded me of it... Why do we have so many different LM classes and is it good or bad for the sport? Seems counter productive to me to have so many different classes, especially when potential new fans don't understand the difference (or care what the difference actually is).

I dont wish bad on the event, but theres a lot of factors working against them. 2 full days of racing with 6 classes running, summertime in the south, with hot laps starting at 5:30. Also the 20k to win, 1k to start sounds nice, but 6th place pays $1,300....not a great payback thru the field.

Makes no sense for Tyler Erb to go to Charlotte.

I agree completely, too many classes that are close to the same. Crates are good for most weekly tracks as headliner, make the rules so 602/604 run together (as they did initially). Steel heads/limited/CT525 would make a great regional piece, Supers for big regional/national series. Don't run them at the same time....Problem is the national series need the regional cars (which are getting few and far between) to fill their shows, the regional need the locals to fill their shows as well-so it's a vicious circle that keeps getting smaller and smaller. Instead of erasing student loan debt, let's get the government to erase short track racer dept.- I'll order a new super tomorrow!

Only if Wheatland also gets called off. Still, they'd have to haul butt to get to I-80.

Unless he’s flying in to make a guest appearance in the 111.

My opinion is we are ruining late model racing with all the classes and engine combinations. It’s killing local racing and regional series are becoming traveling local shows that are slowly dwindling.

I believe the 39 team will head towards I-80 after tonight at Lucas Oil Speedway, Tim will head back to Charlotte where the Longhorn guys will have a 3rd car ready to go then after tomorrow night Tim will travel out to Nebraska.
