COVID took another just sad at 81 years old. He was admitted at 4:16p.m. Monday and never made it out very sad.

Sad way to start the new year. He made a difference for many people. RIP

We're already off to a bad start for 2022. Me and a good friend were just discussing CJ and the business not even a few days ago. He will be missed dearly.
Booger Brooks sent him out with a win today at 411.

Great guy an innovator a lot of accomplishments when you think about it rip cj .

From Jeff Purvis to the million were his cars finished first an second it was a great run thanks for the memories.

You can talk about all the innovative minds in dirt late model. His simplicity kept his cars at the front. I think given time he could have kept the leaf sprung cars right up there. Maybe we should go back to that point in time. I wonder how that would change the cost of slm racing ?

In November 2002, he was working on a leaf spring tube chassis late model car. I saw it when we were picking up our z-bar car. I don't know what ever happened to that car. He told me that leaf springs were faster, they just weren't as adjustable from track to track.
