This desert track was a regular haunt of ours' for many years starting in the late '80s. About 160 miles from home and about 50 miles east of Reno the Late Models were a regular part of the show and, though the car counts weren't great, the racing was fun and we made a lot of friends there that are still close today.

Rattlesnake was an appropriate name for the volunteer run track. Camping overnight for a show there with the kids in sleeping bags on the open trailer and me and the now ex in the back of a pickup a rattler woke my daughter up shaking it's thing. She was around 10 at the time and now in her early 40s and she still remembers that.

My son was 12 and in the morning before we left for home I put him in the LM for the first time and let him run a few laps until he popped the worn out right rear tire. The car was a Diamondback, built by a Grass Valley builder. Headed for home, changed gears and I ran our local track in Grass Valley that night. A racing bump took out my right rear too. Ironic.

The last time we ran Fallon a couple of years ago was at a Pro Stock Memorial for a very good friend and they had redone the dirt the week before adding manure from a nearby horse ranch. When we got home the dogs went nuts sniffing and licking the stuff stuck on the wheels. Lot of fond memories
