    Default Appalachian Mountain Speedweek

What a great week of racing for the Mid Atlantic fans. Attendence and car counts were way beyond my expectations. From a high of 50 cars at Port Royal to a low of 34 at Selinsgrove. The drivers definitely supported the mini series, with 21 drivers attending all the shows. Despite going up against the Dream the first weekend, there was still enough star power in Satterlee, Eckert, Rine, Covert, Cosner, Carrier, Troutman etc. to draw the fans. I think it safe to say the Speedweek will be back in 2024. A new emerging star arrived on the scene, with young Tyler Emory winning the Speedweek title in only his second season driving a Super Late Model.

This speed week always got a lot of cars, but the weekday tracks usually lost money and changed in the schedule each year until they dried up and nobody wanted a weekday show. Port Bedford Hagerstown usually made out ok but not the others. How were the weekday crowds?
