When your party gets on board with a defund the police mantra, when the you treat the ones who have been there for years like garbage, when you then lose the good ones to early retirements and job jumping, then you must lower your standards.
Look how well lowering standards helped Memphis. Basically a street gang of thugs were hired and they did what street gangs of thugs do. They beat a black motorist to death. We don't hear much about that case anymore. I wonder.... Why?
A jumpy Somali officer in Minnesota shot and killed a woman from Australia who came up and knocked on the window of the patrol car he was in. She was the one who called the police for suspicious activity. They made a big deal of it when they hired him by the way.
Screw ups do happen in the world of law enforcement. It's not a perfect world and your dealing with sometimes the worst of the human condition. It's a job with a lot of responsibility and power at times. I was lucky. I worked with some great people through the years and although I witnessed some lapses on a few, there was never anything terrible that involved the public. Our agency always did their best at selection, background investigations and training to get people ready.
This move by Illinois (and others) is a sign of desperation. They'll spin it as a way to include new arrivals into society and whatever. Spare me. They created their own mess. This is a result of it.
Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.
