There will be light 💡 at Pennsboro Speedway. Test run of the new LED system that will be similar for the big track. According to lore when the lights were on (in the handful of races lights were used) the racing was magic, as well.

Facility was horrible, racing wasn't much better. The only magic was the partying that took place in the infield. Pennsboro's appeal was getting to see all the top drivers race because of the purse they paid. That purse is pretty much common these days with WOO and Lucas. They may pull this off, but this presumed magic is just a fading memory for those of us that attended races there every year. 20-30 yr. old me thought nothing about parking in town and hiking to the track with a cooler and lawn chair and climbing the hillside. 60's something me says that isn't happening anymore. I do wish them luck in their endeavor.

From what I have red and seen over the last few months it appears they are going to shorten the length of the track. So I don’t think we have to worry about it being a bigger and narrow track to race on.

I'll say this. The racing should be much much better.

This 1/4 is a good idea! WVMS should have done it too while revamping!

If nothing else the dome track has proven that people know how to build tracks quickly….if those guys can do that in less than 30 days there is no reason a good quarter miler can’t be built outside somewhere by somebody as smart in 6/8 months….I see this working especially considering the draw of the name itself……imagine Davenport Iowa speedway type quarter mile racing there if they can pull it off???
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????
-
Hopefully the people in that area support the track. No matter how good the racing is, you need local fan support to survive.
8/13/16

I hadn’t given that a ton of thought much past the first couple big races……..did it have a decent local following back in the day? All I’ve ever heard about were big race partying, and atmosphere galore but horrible racing.
Was there weekly, seasonal racing there before?

We will. We’ve been ready

BBQ, place used to be packed. But they only raced 2-3 times per year. Locals will be there. Join us.

Count on it brother….I love West Virginia.

Is that really the new track? It's looks like it's very small. Is that smaller than a quarter?
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention!

Well, it's quite apparent that reality didn't quite measure up to expectations. Seems to be a common occurrence with the XR group.

You wanted a 1/2 mile track that would struggle to get cars? We see where WVMS is currently at.

What exactly are your expectations? Lol

I've watched a lot of really good racing on bullrings. Everyone of us has made comments on how aero is killing racing. I didn't expect this, but if done right, it should produce good racing. Only time will tell, bringing back the track has always been wishful thinking, this time it's happening and that's a good thing.
