1 top 5 in 63 events?? does he have that much $$$ to waste? why not run local races and have a chance to get a top 5 or possibly a win?

Looks like he's having fun, everytime I see him in the pits, bottle of Busch Light in hand and all smiles. If I had the money I'd do the same thing

He isn’t particularly competitive locally either. He’s just having fun.

Boom knows how to set a car up, just ask chub frank. He's supporting a dream and he enjoys every minute of it. SLM has become a sport were if your off by 1/2 second your in trouble and fight a uphill battle most nights. He has max Blair in his second car and if they get that car right he can run up front with anybody.

He never has been consistently fast. I have watched him win a All Star series race at KC raceway (atomic) back in the day. It was around 2009-10 I believe. I think technology has hurt what speed he had back in those days.

I would like to have a trucking company the size of his and have the fun he does on the weekends

If this is true it seems an odd choice for the house car driver. Boom is a great guy, but I don't see him as being able to drive Longhorn forward. Sure he's got the cash to pay the bills, but what could they possibly learn from running mid pack? JMO

I remember Boom being the man on that IRS tour in late 2000s.
