I think he's actually part of Capital Race Cars, but maybe I misunderstood the arrangement. Career Highlights: 2021 1 Win / 9th in LOLMDS points 2020 10 Wins / 6th in LOLMDS points 2019 8 Wins / 2nd in WoO points 2018 4 Wins / 7th in WoO points 2017 9 Wins / 3rd in WoO points 2016 10 Wins / 2nd in WoO points 2015 15 Wins / Winning first WoO points title 2014 Gobbler 100 Champ ($10,000) at Cochran Motor Speedway 2012 Dirt Late Model Dream Champ ($100,000) at Eldora Speedway 2012 Winter Extreme ($10,000) at Tucson International Raceway. He had 10 wins on Lucas Oil Tour 2020... It just seems Capital has slipped a little behind somewhere. Numbers make a difference, can be a blessing and sometimes a curse.

^^ That fact of the Capital brand slipping behind a little kind of sounds like of how the Rocket brand has performed in the national touring series the last few years ? ?

Need to do a deeper dive on those stats, Clanton only has 6 career Lucas Oil wins. Those stats are for the whole season, many of those wins are regional races. Most of his success comes from running WoO which he does hold the all time career starts leader which also makes him the World of Outlaw Late Models biggest loser…

they hardly build enough cars to be a brand , look at all the small builders and see what they are doing , Marshall Green is a good man and for clanton , he is just one of those you have to know how to take , I haven't talked to either one in a while but never had a problem with either .....JMO...

Capital would probably benefit from copious amounts of testing like the two biggies. Maybe having Shane at the helm will realize that.

If I was Shane I would take 2024 off from running WoO or Lucas. Get the business going under his watch, run races in the region, and prepare for a 2025 run.

That’s absolutely the smart way to go about it. Test, test, test, then test some more. Race some at places he especially likes or is good at, but still treat those races as testing. Log all the data he conceivably can.

Shane’s announcement on his plans will be out tomorrow

Looks like they have access to Dixie and Rome to test. Sounds like Shane will be in the shop and on the phone serving customer’s needs. This looks like a good move at this stage in life and his future in racing.
-
Maybe Clanton in the shop is a good thing but working with customers??? Personally, I'd hate to call Shane Clanton and ask for anything....or have a conversation of any kind....but that's just me.

Helping drivers at the race track, a la Kevin Rumley, should be an easy job for Clanton. Does anybody drive a Capital race car besides Canton?
-
I copied those stats straight from his website... So take it up with him.

You quoted his website but you misunderstood the information. Feel free to check other sources. Zero Lucas Oil wins in 2020.

Might make for some good prank calls. Ask him if there's any way to get better aero when you have a giant skull.

Not anymore. He & another guy bought the business. Marshall and crew will still be building them though.
Edit: old junk forum software weirdness. At least 10 posts added between when I started my reply & finishing. I don't type that slow...
