John Mason hauler
I was at indy auction years ago and his single truck red hauler with box on back where car was loaded solid. Whatever happened to that unit or others like them?
-
Mike Head used one for years , always thought it was neet ....
-
I preferred the school bus with the car sticking out the back!
-
Bill Frye had a really nice one as well- he built it himself. Seems like someone posted here last year that it was now in Missouri?
-
Keith Simmons has his original truck hauler all restored, it is in Cedar Rapids Ia.
-
What state was John Mason out of ?
-
Ohio......Millersburg, to be specific

Does anyone have a picture of the John Mason race car hauler. If no picture , could you describe it ? What year was it ? What make was it ? Ford , Chevy , or Dodge ?
-
Kevin Claycomb used one as well for a few years.
-
Back in the late 80’s early 90’s a guy from Illinois used one like Mason’s ---- he use to come to the Bryan Ohio ½ mile on Sundays. I always assumed he was a UMP LM points chaser traveling that far.
-
Still looking for more information on the Mason car hauler.

The Dub Barnhouse Bus carried the Batmobile all the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Jack McCoy, the late Hoosier tire distributor on the West Coast, did the school bus bit too. Ran the old Winston West NASCAR series with his purple Dodge Charger sticking out the back. If I remember correctly the bus was also purple.
He also owned a 454 powered Chevy 1/2 ton that ran one of the first Cannonball Coast to Coast races with western top notch racer Ivan Baldwin at the wheel. This was all in the late '60s-early '70s.

if it had a LS6 and a 308 gear , it probably got on down the road pretty good .....

A very good friend of mine is building a cabover school bus race hauler at the moment to haul his sport mod in. He doesn't keep anything, I'm sure it will be on racingjunk by the end of the year.
