Are these rules design to be the same at surronding tracks,or are the just design for one track? It seems to me that if the promoters would get together, and have the same rules at all the tracks it would benefit everyone. I for one think Spoon River is the best track around,,and would love to come back to race there, but don't see that,do to the fact that the class we ran was dropped not because of car count, but because they couldn't pay the purse do to the lack of fans. Now this may not what was said, but if you look at the car count in the super Late models you would see that they averaged 16 to 20 plus cars every week until the purse was cut. I hope this doesn't happen to the streets stock class, but being realistic if the promoter says he will pay this much to win,and start gets 20 cars but gains only 50 people in the stands theres no way he can afford to payout this purse, and try to make a little money that he deserves to.This is no way a post about bashing just my personal beliefs due to racing at this facility for about 20 years, and what happen with the class we raced in. We had to find a new track to go,and enjoy our FUN !!! in this sport.

Good Luck to all in 2010 This is a great racing facility!!

I believe next year will be just as bad as this year for fans in the stands. With the economy and the jobs situation it hard for any sporting event to get people in the stands. I'm fortunate enough (because of family backing that love racing )that if it took not getting paid to keep racing going through some bad times I will. Live to race, race to live

So if all the car counts were about equal, but with the lack of fans one class had to be cut, wouldn't it be the newest class?

Here is what I would do. Whatever classes is self supporting is the classes I would keep. So if I had a late model class but they did not bring enough pit passes or fans in the stands to help pay the purse they would have to go. A prime example is Charleston Speedway they only run 3 classes Mods,Street stocks,Hornets and it works for them and they pay a decent purse in those classes.

My Camaro has FULL Stock floor pan, 2380 lbs....( with me in it, 3340 !!! )

Or was that when Gary Cook drove it...

I post one comment on here and I'm the one that doesn't know when to zip it? Yeah ok, how many posts do you have again?

Look all I'm saying is you are so ready to jump on someone for mentioning sliders yet you keep whining about the 200lbs rule. You can't have it both ways. You can't tell one person to not complain about a rule they don't like and then your next post complain about a rule you don't like. You're a good guy Steve, why keep making yourself look like a whiner? I'm really trying to help you out here, just like before, but I suppose I'll just stop trying that.

You say you don't like it but it doesn't matter, ok then, stop whining about it then. "It doesn't matter but..." means it does matter. It wasn't some conspiracy against Steve. It was voted on just like everything else. If it doesn't matter, then stop complaining about it. Otherwise, you come off as a whiner and I know that's something no one wants to come off as. Again, not an attack, just trying to point something out to you.

no nick , you start talking the same shi- on another forum and had nothing to say to start with and now your running your mouth over something again. kev was pointing out about the sliders but still said he'll do something , and i was saying i didnt really like the weight penalty so once again , you come in act like the referee and have to say something you dont need to say anything about to start with. my conversation was with kev not you. i was just saying we can live with and still race and have fun . why dont you tell bln57 to stop bringing up about the steel floorpans.. you know , you can tell him something stupid and to live with it too . i said the same on te peoria forum and i'll say it here. if all you want to to is practise parenting class , dont reply any of my threads. i listened to the same bull chit last winter from ya and i'll be dammed if it's again this winter.

Did I ever mention your name in my first post, nope, you assume too much. Don't know what you are talking about on this other forum. Even if, I have as much right as you to say my opinions, the same as you. I post one thing and you tell me to shut up. OK that's fair. I'm sure you'll come back because you always have have the last word. Create a something between us Steve, whatever. I have nothing against you, never have other than trying to help you realize when you are making a fool of yourself. You take this as "Steve bashing" because of your paranoia. Whatever. But I'll stop that from now on. Just remember not EVERY SINGLE TIME I post something is it directed towards you. You somehow have it in your head I do. Trust me, I have better things to do.

If you don't want to start anything with me, then don't. You're the one that calls me out by name on every post I put up. Nothing I said was directed towards you, so I didn't start anything. Don't call me either, you post what you want and I'll post what I want. There's nothing to settle between us if you stop creating it.

Steve I don't know who Nick is. But if you look at his first post the one you jumped all over him about (post 118) he did not mention your name. The post that you have copied here is after the post you made jumping all over him (post 119).

I'll tell you I really don't see where in his first post he was talkin about you. I have gone back and reread all the post three times now, maybe i'm blind but I don't see your name in any of his post until you put his name in your post (post119). Like I said before I don't know this Nick guy, I just figured I would give you guys another persons point of view after reading all this.

Now if you two guys want to keep acting and posting like little school girls I'll keep reading and laughin.

Have a good day!

Thank you, see someone understands what I'm trying to say. Honest Steve, I DO NOT get on here to try to provoke you in any way shape or form. We've always gotten along in the past except for a couple disagreements, but I'm not your enemy here Steve, never have been. Just seems like every post I make you think is a slam on you, ITS NOT! So please for both our sakes stop with the paranoia. I have nothing against you so stop thinking I do. If you have something against me then that's your issue. I don't sweat everyone having to like me.

jr , i was talking with kev about the floorpan(did you notice ) deal and once again , nick decided just as last year on the peoria forum has to find a way to get his 2 cents in on a subject. i was pointing out about the floor pan as an example because he brought up the sliders . i was at the freakin meeting and didnt need nick's expert opinion on a meeting i was at. just like last winter on the peoria forum... he has to give expert advice on something he dont have to start with. i asked him back then to just not reply and i still ask the same. if i wasnt at the meeting and was doin nothing but complaining would be one thing but to sit and tell me about something i was there to hear is another.

my point , i was encouraging kev to go ahead , build his car have fun. i didnt like a rule but it was not important... there was no problem then and i didnt need reminded about something i was fully aware of from the start. this crap went on last year and i dont need the same shi- this year.

I decided to let the SLIDERS RULE slide.......lol.Why keep bringing it up,it's already a set rule not to have them.Yes,I'll have a street stock for Spoon, either be it my STOCK Camaro or I'll buy a metric car if the price is right.Either way I'll have an emod at Spoon too,as it doesn't lack much to get it done, basically a motor and gear.
Lookin' forward to running against Steve and all the rest of the street guys who show up.Should be a pretty good year having streets back.

As for Spoon having low fan count in the stands,Morey needs to PROMOTE more, maybe have giveaways or whatever it takes to get people to the track.I know the economy has something to do with people not going but why is Peoria packed every Sat. night? They are doing something right.I'm not bashing Spoon or Morey but come on.....COME UP WITH SOME IDEAS TO GET PEOPLE IN THE STANDS.I know Rob Bauman has come up with ideas in the past but it has gone through one ear and out the other when brought up to Morey. My gosh, it isn't that difficult to figure out what's wrong and you can't blame just the economy.I just hope fans turn out next season cuz Spoon is one he!! of a track.JMO.
