When it comes to on dirt in general across the board I'd say yes right now. Who else can jump into anything and run up front or be a threat to win when it comes to late models, winged sprint cars, and midgets?

For the record, he did outrun Bloomer in both features at Bristol whom many consider to be the goat. He actually had a better average finishing record then anyone else there if you combine both nights. Of course, he's chasing checkered flags and not best average finishes or points.

The whole GOAT thing is kinda ridiculous, so subjective. Larson had an incredible 2020, mostly in open wheel, but one year does not s GOAT make.

Agree kazual that it is ridiculous and subjective. Really impossible to compare until careers are over and then it comes down to if the careers were in the same era as sport is constantly changing. I was meaning more that he's the best right now instead of GOAT.

Actually this nonsense should be in another section but let the fun begin, anyway.

It seems unclear how bloomy can be touted as the "greatest of all time" when all he ever was successful driving was "dirt late models" (late model what?) and mortified's. Larson has won in virtually everything he's ever driven and he doesn't rate any higher than a one trick pony? Hmmmm.

The "greatest of all time" category needs clarified and specified.

flyopenboy has a woody a cat can't scratch for Larson. The only plausible explanation is he deeply resents the fact that Larson beat the very best in the "dirt late model" business on just his 2nd start and then a few months late put a beat-down on those same "dirt late model" boys of the likes they had never seen! LOLOL!

Does winning races (some crown jewel event's) driving:

    outlaw carts
    midgets
    wingless 410 sprint cars
    winged 360's
    winged 410's
USAC Silver Crown cars on 1 mile dirt tracks and Eldora
won all 3 USAC National divisions at the Four Crown at Eldora having never seen the place before
2 time Chili Bowl Champ and counting
dirt late models against the best in the business
asphalt late models (won the All Pro Championship as a rookie)
NASCAR trucks on dirt & pavement
    NASCAR Xfiinity
    NASCAR Cup cars
Daytona Prototype Sports cars in the 2nd most prestigious 24 hour road race in the world

not get him in the conversation for being the best all around driver? If not then what does?

In all fairness he definitely is right now. Didn't he win something like 7 or 8 in a row driving 2 or 3 completely different types of racecars?

He's head and shoulders above anyone since A.J. & Mario because of his diversity of success. He's no Steve Kinser in a winged 410 sprint car. He's no Cody Swanson or Jack Hewitt in a USAC Silver Crown car. He's no Mel Kenyon or Bob Tattersall in a midget. He's no Jimmie Johnson in a Cup car. He's no Bubba Pollard in an asphalt late model. He's no Dave Darland in a wingless sprint car but his total body of success is unmatched in the past 40 years.

It's impossible to dismiss or diminish that list of very impressive accomplishments even by those who resent his immediate success driving "dirt late models".

He may not be the goat today but, he sure is headed that way and This resume proves it.

(Atomic and Chillicothe are one in the same. Chillicothe is the name of the town, and the once, or twice, renamed track.)

First time in history a driver has won a NASCAR Cup race and a WoO's Sprint Car race on consecutive days. Larson makes history yet again!
