    Default Tear-off Issues

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or has an idea how to fix:

I use the Racing Optics X-Stack tear-offs, and love how clear and easy they are to see through, but twice now have gone to tear one off only to have the entire stack come off. I would think the posts on my shield are about as tight as they can go (at least they seem to be when I put the stack on).

I was thinking of maybe separating the outer 2" inches or so of the stack?

Any ideas or comments are appreciated!

you're folding the tabs between each layer correct?

Yes. I only pull from the right and usually cut the tabs off the left side. There's obviously the possibility I'm inadvertently grabbing the whole stack and not just the exposed tab, but I've only experienced this a few times over 20+ years of racing...up until now. I've raced just twice this year and it's happened both times.

get some racing optics posts, theyre tapered and when you tighten them the tearoff slides up the post instead of trying to go under the post. i pull from the right as well, i always set my tightness off the left side and have never had a problem

You might be yanking too fast/hard. I have to pull slow steady to keep from pulling off the whole stack

    This^

Also instead of pulling away from helmet, try pulling more downward so you're not trying to pull the whole stack off by the stickiness of the tearoffs holding them together. Hope that makes sense.

I swear this had to be you last time I seen you make laps, no other explanation for your driving at that time.

Make sure you fold the last flap also, if not you can pull the whole stack at once too...been there done that...!!

I ended up tightening (spreading out) the posts some, and was more mindful of pulling down on the tear-off to remove it. So, no issues last night.

Thanks again for all the responses!
