Ya know...If there was Room to Do away with Infield Pits in that place, Clean the place up, new Gaurdrails, New fencing, LOTS of Paint and General Venue upgrades like NICE bathrooms and a Few other Extra's.....Top notch Track prep...That place could Possibly be one of the best in the Country!

BUBBA,
I DON'T KNOW WHERE U FROM BUT I HOPE U GET TO ALSO. SHE'S ONE OF RACEST TRACKS AROUND THESE PARTS.
BEEN THERE SINCE 54 MOST OF THE GREATS AROUND THE SOUTH HAS RUN THERE ONCE OR MORE. SHE'S HIGH BANKED SO YOU USUALLY HAVE A TOP AND BOTTOM GROVE.
TRACK RECORD IS 11.784 SEC/ 95.5 MPH AND THEY PROBALLY RACE IN THE 12'S .
ANY SAT. NIGHTS A GOOD RACE NIGHT BUT SOUTHERN ALLSTARS WILL BE THERE TWICE THIS YEAR 1ST TIME APRIL 10 THEN IN AUGUST, SORTA A NICE VACATION PLACE ALSO IF U LIKE THE MOUNTAINS OR THE LAKE.
I RAN MY MOUTH WITH MY 40 PLUS YEARS OF BEING A FAN SAYING THE SUPERS WERE GOING TO FAST TO PASS. THEN DAVENPORT CAME FROM 22ND TO 2ND WITHOUT MANY CAUTIONS A FEW YEARS BACK . THEN RAY COOK MADE 3 WIDE PASS FOR LEAD AND WIN IN 08.LAST YEAR BENJI COLE AND RIGHTFOOT RONNIE H. SPLIT A LAP CAR IN MIDDLE 3 WIDE RACING FOR LEAD.
IF U EVER COME PM ME AND WE WILL MAKE SURE YOU GET A FULL TOUR,
I HOPE TO SEE TAZWELL AND ELDORA BEFORE I DIE TOO,

That Building was orginally built around "1970". It was the Main office for the Cattle auction Barn. There was a Cafe in that building as well. You can go in and still see the Cafe, Bathroom's (what's left of them) the auction ring is still there and the buyers seats are there. Our former Promoter Randy McCoy was the auctioneer there around "1973".

Looks great. Just a thought, but I'd like to see all the pits outside, then widen the track inwardly. Just food for thought, can't wait for 2010 to get underway. Thanks Paper.

I've always liked that idea!....getting rid of those light poles in the infield would make the place look even better.

Where are the improvements? What did they do throw down some 3/4 inch rock. Hope it doesnt turn into KLMS. Why would you put down rock right where the cars go onto the track? They take that on the track and then it ends up in the grandstands knocking someone out. Looks like something the boyscouts could get done in a day. In all seriousness, I'll admit the track itself does look like its bad fast. A track around here wouldnt even be able to get insurance with those guardrails.

Thank you for at least taking the time to look. The Toccoa Speedway will be opening it's gates for the (56th) consecutive Season on March,20th 2010. In a way the Toccoa Speedway is like the Boy Scouts.....Been around a long time.
