Memorial Day Weekend Tripleheader Closes Out Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Tour
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The 2026 version of the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco will conclude over the Memorial Day holiday weekend with three events at three different venues in the states of Georgia and Tennessee. As announced earlier this week on social media, the event scheduled for Friday, May 22 at Sugar Creek Raceway has shifted to Monday, May 25 due to area graduations. That means the Memorial Day shootout at the Blue Ridge, Georgia facility will serve as the series point finale and a Champion will be crowned following the $5,053 to win program.
Kicking off the tripleheader will be the annual running of the ‘Biddle Ridley Memorial’ next Saturday, May 23 at North Georgia Speedway. The winner at the Chatsworth, Georgia venue will receive a $7,553 first place prize. On Sunday, May 24, the action will quickly shift to Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee for a $10,053 to win program. The Spring Nationals tour will then wrap up on Monday, May 25 at Sugar Creek Raceway, as Super Late Model competitors will gun for the $5,053 winner’s check.
Madison, Georgia standout Garrett Smith is in firm control of the point standings, as he looks for his second straight Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series Championship and the $10,053 points payout. Brandon Overton, Benji Hicks, Kaede Loudy, and Jack Franklin sit second through fifth in the latest point tally. There have been seven different winners in the first eight series races with only Brandon Overton reaching victory lane twice. Single race winners on the tour this year include Chris Madden, Garrett Smith, Dale McDowell, Hudson O’Neal, Mike Marlar, and Zack Mitchell.
Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. Additional rules including engine and weight rules can be found online at www.southernnationalsseries.com. The Super Late Model entry fee will be $120 each night.
