Central Illinois goes open wheel racing (mostly) August 16th-18th

Starting tomorrow night, open-wheel racing takes hold of Central Illinois as the Lucas Oil POWRi Midgets and Speedway Motors 600cc Micro Sprints invade the Logan County Fairgrounds as they tackle the 1/4 mile Lincoln Speedway. Saturday afternoon, the stars and cars of the USAC Traxxas Silver Crown Series take to the Springfield Mile for the Tony Bettenhausen 100. Then, on Saturday night, the Lucas Oil POWRi Midgets and Speedway Motors 600cc Micro Sprints come to Macon Speedway to join the Billingsley Towing UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, Pro Hornets, and Amateur Hornets. Sunday the fenders come back as the ARCA Re/Max Series takes to the Springfield Mile for the Allen Crowe 100. Sportsman will be racing both days of the fair.
