Tazewell Speedway Cancels Racing Program for April 25 Due to Rain

TAZEWELL, TN (April 25, 2015)—Officials at Tazewell Speedway have decided to cancel tonight’s racing program (April 25) due to rain from last night and the possibility of severe weather in the later part of the evening.
The track will now turn their attention to next Saturday May 2nd as the Ray Cook-promoted Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil will roll into the ‘Bad Fast Taz’ for a 50-lap $6,000-to-win event. The Sportsman will race for $850-to-win along with the Classics Cars ($500-to-win) and the KDRA Super Stocks ($500-to-win) and the 4-Cylinders will have the night off.
“We hated to cancel for tonight but with the rain we’ve already had from last night and the potential for severe weather later tonight we didn’t want to get everyone in here and then have to cancel and reschedule,†stated track owner Gary Hall. Tazewell Speedway already has two makeup features from April 18 in the Classic and Sportsman divisions to run on May 2nd.
Last week’s (April 18) winners included Josh Collins of Powell, Tenn. who got his first win of the season at Tazewell Speedway. Brad Davis of Tazewell notched his first win of the season in the Super Stocks while Bubby Braden of Luttrell, Tenn. claimed the Four Cylinder main event win. The Classic and Late Model Sportsman feature was rained out and will be run on May 2nd after the race program is complete.
