Chris Ferguson Rebounds for Cherokee Cash; World 100 Next
Mt. Holly, North Carolina (09/05/16) – After seeing bad luck bite him on Friday night Chris Ferguson bounced back on Saturday night to visit victory lane in his Champion Spark Plugs #22 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model at Cherokee Speedway.
“Major shout out to my guys for busting their tails to get my car ready for action on Saturday night,†said Ferguson. “There’s just no quit in these guys, and I really appreciate everything that they do for me. I also want to thank all of my awesome sponsors.â€
Behind the wheel of the Live Oak Aesthetic and Family Dentistry #22 Super Late Model, Chris Ferguson visited Lancaster Motor Speedway (Lancaster, South Carolina) on Saturday night for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series, sanctioned A-Main. Drawing 18 cars for the $4,000-to-win A-Main, Ferguson earned the 2nd-starting position for the feature after timing in 2nd fastest in qualifying behind only Johnny Pursley. Suffering a flat-tire on the second lap of the feature, Chris battled back to an 8th-place finish from the tail.
Returning with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series on Saturday, Chris was one of 17 cars signed in for another $4,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday night at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina). Laying down the fastest time in qualifying, Ferguson rolled off on the pole for the main event. Jumping into the lead early in the feature, Chris cruised to his sixth victory of the season with Johnny Pursley, Ross Bailes, Doug Sanders, and Dennis Franklin rounding out the Top 5.

Chris now turns his attention to the 46th annual World 100, which will be held on September 8-10 at Eldora Speedway. After battling bad luck throughout the Dirt Late Model Dream weekend back in June, Ferguson will look to get redemption during this weekend’s crown jewel event. Thursday and Friday night’s programs will be headlined by twin $10,000-to-win features each night, while Saturday’s finale boats a whopping $49,000 top prize. For those that can’t be there all of the action will be broadcast live via pay-per-view at www.EldoraSpeedway.com and www.DirtOnDirt.com .
