Jason Hughes Wins at Salina; Thunderbird Next
Westville, Oklahoma (07/07/17) – Jason Hughes parked his Henryetta Ford #12 Hughes Chassis/ Mullins Racing Engine Modified in Victory Lane on Friday night at Salina Highbanks Speedway, where he picked up a $1,500 win.
The win was his sixth of 2017.
“It’s always good to get to race close to home, and this was a really solid field that we were able to beat,†Hughes commented. “Things are about to get extremely busy for our team, so it’s good to know we are hitting on all cylinders.â€
The 4th annual Freedom Classic kicked off on Friday night at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma). A seventh-to-first run in his heat race rewarded Hughes with the pole position for the feature event. He would go on to wire the field to pocket the $1,500 victory. R.C. Whitwell, Terry Phillips. Rodney Sanders, and Mickey Lassiter rounded out the Top 5 finishers.
On Saturday night a $2,500 top prize was on the line, but Hughes decided to scratch from the program due to track conditions.

Jason will enter a single event this weekend in his #12 Modified as he makes the short trek to Thunderbird Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma) on Friday evening to chase the $2,000 top prize in the Independent Showdown.
