    Busy Week Sees Dustin Strand Win Twice

    Grand Forks, North Dakota (07/19/17) – Dustin Strand competed in several events during the course of this past week and along the way he piloted his RealTruck.com #71 Keewatin Truck Service/ Q&Z Plumbing & Heating/ Millenium Chassis Modified to a pair of wins.

    Making his first start of the season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Dustin Strand invaded Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) on Wednesday night to compete for the $8,000 top prize. Moving up two spots in his heat race, Strand recorded a 3rd-place finish, locking him into the 8th-starting position for the feature. Coming one spot shy of a Top-10 finish, Dustin slipped back to a 11th-place finish in the 40-lapper.

    The following night with 33 World of Outlaws followers on hand at Hibbing Raceway (Hibbing, Minnesota), Strand recorded a 4th-place finish in his heat race, transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 3 into the show, Dustin edged his way into the finale with the 3rd and final transfer spot. With $8,000 on the line, Strand improved two positions registering a 20th-place outing.

    Wrapping up the three-day stint with the World of Outlaws, Strand stopped at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) on Friday for the Acme Tools 50. Dropping one spot in his heat race, Dustin logged a 6th-place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 3 into the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Dustin landed a runner-up finish behind Chase Junghans, positioning him 20th on the starting grid for the feature. Improving three positions in the 50-lapper, Strand registered a 17th place finish.

    During the same night, powering his Q&Z Plumbing & Heating #71 Open Wheel Modified, Strand cruised to an 8-lap heat race win positioning him 6th on the starting grid for the feature. With 20 laps to work his way to the front, Dustin topped Ward Imrie, Jerome Guyot, Lance Schill, and Scott Greer to pick up his 10th win of the season.

    Saturday night brought strand to Greenbush Raceway Park (Greenbush, Minnesota), pulling double duty in the Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified divisions. With 18 cars register for the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) sanctioned contest, Dustin secured his spot into the $1,100-to-win feature with a 3rd-place finish in his heat race. Starting in the 9th position for the 25-lap feature, Strand passed two cars to place 7th.

    In the Open Wheel Modified ranks, Strand jumped up two spots in his heat race posting a 3rd place finish. Rolling off 7th for the feature, Dustin Strand wheeled his way to the front capturing his 11th win of the season with Aaron Holtan, Bryan Dyrdahl, Jordan Wahl, and Lee McRae.

    “What a crazy past week this was,” Strand said. “I really have to tip my hat to my team, my family, and all of my sponsors for keeping this hot rod rolling. We raced a lot of shows last week. While I’d like to have had a little better luck in the Late Model, I’m extremely grateful for our wins in the Modified.”
