Seratt Motorsports Goes 1-2 at Western Kentucky
Dyersburg, Tennessee (08/15/17) – Jim Seratt Racing with drivers, Preston Seratt and Ashley Newman, swept the top two spots on the podium at Western Kentucky Speedway on Saturday evening.
Newman snared the victory in his DC Electric Rebuilders #73 MBR Chassis/ Mullins Race Engines Modified, while Seratt cross the finish line in second in his J&P Machine Repair #29 MBR Chassis/ Wehrs Machine/ Mullins Race Engines Modified.
“It was awesome to get the win, but hated to see Preston have bad luck on the opening lap,†Newman noted. “If he hadn’t had to go tailback, I’m not sure that I would’ve been able to get him. I just want to thank the entire Seratt family for this great opportunity that they give me to drive this awesome hot rod.â€
Both pilots of the Jim Seratt Racing team were in action on Saturday night at Western Kentucky Speedway (Madisonville, Kentucky) to do battle for the $1,500 top prize in the Modified division. Passing two cars in his heat, Preston Seratt scored a heat race victory, locking him into the feature.
Ashley Newman rallied from the tail of his heat to place second after suffering a flat-tire in his qualifying session. In the feature, Preston cut a tire on the opening lap, but charged from the tail of the field notching a 2nd-place finish. Newman outran the field from his 4th-starting spot to capture his fourth win of the season. Seratt, Don Brantley, Alex Love, and Brennan Jenkins completed the Top 5.
“Ashley drove a great race, and if I couldn’t win, I’m glad that he did,†Seratt commented. “Hopefully this weekend I can park it in Victory Lane.â€
This weekend the team will head north to the Land of Lincoln. The 6th annual Take ‘Em Off 40 will be held at Charleston Speedway (Charleston, Illinois) on Saturday evening. A $5,000-to-win/$500-to-start finale will headline the topless Modified event.
