Black Diamond Racecars and Earl Pearson Jr. Hit the Ground Running
Strong Runs Highlight Team’s Speedweeks Efforts
Shreveport, Louisiana (02/14/18) – Speedweeks can be a challenging time for long-tenured teams. Simiilarly, it can be downright brutal for new teams. However, for Earl Pearson Jr. and the brand-new Black Diamond Racecars Team, the start to the season has been fast and efficient.
Pearson Jr. has already registered several strong runs behind the wheel of the the Black Diamond Racecar #1 Lucas Oil Products/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.
“We’ve had a few of the speedbumps that you expect for a new team, but I’ll admit that I’ve been pleasantly surprised about how quickly we’ve gelled to start the season,†Pearson Jr. said. “Ronnie (Stuckey) and I go back a long way, so it’s no big surprise that he and I have been on the same page right off the bat. However, I’ve got to thank my team and my sponsors for their awesome hard work and support. I’m really excited about this season.â€
After scoring a sixth-place finish and a 12th-place finish to open the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season at Georgia's Golden Isles Speedway, the team invaded East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) for the 42nd annual Winternationals.
East Bay would see several strong performances for Pearson Jr.. Over the course of six nights he registered five Top-10 finishes and a pair of Top-5 finishes.
The LOLMDS venture to Speedweeks 2018 drew to a close on Sunday evening at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida), where Earl surged to a runner-up finish behind race winner, Jonathan Davenport.

After taking two a two-night break, the team will return to action this Wednesday through Saturday with four World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Late Model Series events at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida). Each program posts a $10,000 top prize.
