Dale McDowell Wires Spring Nationals Field at Senoia
$10,000 Win Marks Second of 2018 for Georgia Racer

Mooresburg, Tennessee (04/03/18) –Dale McDowell took his Shane McDowell Racing #17m Will Kinzer Foundation/ Sweet-Bloomquist Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to the winner’s circle on Saturday night with the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals at Senoia Raceway.

McDowell held off a hard-charging Scott Bloomquist late in the race to score his second $10,000 win of the season.

“The racetrack kind of locked down there in the last few laps,” McDowell said. “I felt pretty good early up top, which is really not my forte, but we was making it work. Hat’s off to Scott, it’s his design stuff, he and Cody (Mallory) and Sweet-Bloomquist Race Cars. Thanks to Shane and Sara McDowell as well as all my sponsors. This is an awesome hot rod that they give me every night.”

Saturday night found Dale McDowell in action at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia) with the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series. In a field of 33 Super Late Models, McDowell registered the fastest time in his qualifying group, which positioned him on the front row for his heat race.

A convincing victory in his heat locked Dale into the second-starting position for the finale.

Jumping into the lead on the opening lap of the feature, Dale paced the field throughout the event before holding off Scott Bloomquist in the closing laps to capture his second win of the season and a $10,000 payday. Bloomquist, Aaron Ridley, Clint Smith, and Zach Leonhardi completed the Top-5 finishers in the 60-lap affair at the gumbo oval.
