Bryan Bernheisel Breaks Through with First Win of 2018 at Hagerstown
Set for Upcoming LOLMDS Weekend
Jonestown, Pennsylvania (04/16/18) – Bryan Bernheisel bounced back from bad luck on Friday night to take his Dieffenbach’s Kettle Chips #119 Russ Gibble Roofing & Siding/ Lazer Chassis Super Late Model to Victory Lane on Saturday evening at the legendary Hagerstown Speedway.
“We sustained a lot of damage after we got crashed on Friday night at Potomac Speedway, so we decided to alter our original plans to go to Virginia Motor Speedway on Saturday night for the King of the Commonwealth,†Bernheisel commented. “We spent Saturday making repairs, and we decided to go to Hagerstown Speedway to see if the car was fixed and to shake it down for the Lucas Oil show next week. Thankfully the car was repaired, and we were able to park it in Victory Lane for the first time this year.
“A very special thanks goes out to my team for busting their tails to get this thing back together. I greatly appreciate their hard work.â€
Friday night found Bryan Bernheisel in action at Potomac Speedway (Budds Creek, Maryland) for the $2,522-to-win A-Main. In a field of 16 Super Late Models, Bernheisel laid down the fifth-fastest time in qualifying before placing third in his heat race.
Earning the fifth-starting position for the main event, Bernheisel was collected in a wreck early in the race, which dropped him to the tail of the field. Battling his way up to seventh in the final laps, Bryan was making his way into the Top-5 until he was taken out by another competitor. Despite a heavily damaged car, he salvaged a 10th-place finish, when the checkered flag flew.
The following night found Bernheisel making the last second decision to stop at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland) to prepare for the upcoming Lucas Oil Late Model Series event. After starting the night off with a heat race victory, Bryan led every lap of the feature en route to his first win of the season over Marvin Winters, Scott Palmer, Brian Booze, and Justin Kann.
