Cla Knight Progresses in Super Late Model Competition
Finishes Fourth in Jack Starrette Memorial

North Augusta, South Carolina (05/02/18) – South Carolina racer Cla Knight has enjoyed considerable success in the Crate Late Model ranks throughout his young career.

In 2018 he’s added another level of difficulty to his racing resume by progressing into the Super Late Model ranks in his Augusta Aquatics #42 E-Z-GO Golf Carts/ Penske Shocks/ Maxxis Kart Racing/ Town & Country Packing Longhorn Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine entry.

Over the weekend he creeped closer to getting his first win in the division with a fourth-place finish in the Jack Starrette Memorial at Modoc Raceway.

“There’s definitely some significant differences between driving the Crate Late Model and the Super Late Model, but we are learning and getting better every time that we hit the track,” Knight commented. “After qualifying on the pole at Modoc Raceway, I would’ve loved to have gotten my first Super Late Model win, but I’ll take a fourth and move onto the next one.”

Competing with the ULTIMATE Southeast Series, Cla Knight was one of 24 Super Late Models on hand at Modoc Raceway (Modoc, South Carolina) on Saturday evening for the event co-sanctioned with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.

Laying down the fastest time overall in qualifying, Knight locked into the pole position for the Jack Starrette Memorial A-Main. Running in the Top 5 throughout the feature, Cla ultimately registered a fourth-place finish behind Tyler Millwood, Ross Bailes, and John Henderson Jr. with Joey Coulter coming in 5th.
