Dennis Erb, Jr. Advances to Eighth in Farmer City 74; Lucas Oil Triple Shot Next
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team and driver Dennis Erb, Jr. had a pair of $10,000 to win MARS Racing Series tilts in the Land of Lincoln circled on their racing calendar over the May 11-12 weekend. With Saturday's rain-out of the annual 'FALS Frenzy' at Fairbury (IL) American Legion Speedway, the #28 team competed in one lone event on Friday evening at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois.
Dennis stopped the clock fifth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session and finished fifth in his stacked heat race prior to scoring a triumph in his B-Main. Dennis then started the 'Farmer City 74' from the inside of the ninth row and immediately pointed his Black Diamond machine to the front of the strong field. The Carpentersville, Illinois hotshoe maneuvered past nine competitors before the track took rubber and turned one-lane in the 74-lap affair to garner a solid eighth place showing. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take Dennis Erb Racing to the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska from May 18-20 for a trio of pivotal point races. A pair of $12,000 to win spectaculars will kick off the tripleheader weekend on Friday at 141 Speedway in Maribel, Wisconsin and on Saturday in the ‘NAPA North Star Nationals’ at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota. The triple shot of dirt-slinging action will then conclude on Sunday with the annual running of the ‘Go 50’ at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska, which boasts a $10,000 payday.
