    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Ray Cook Captures First Victory of 2018 at Dixie; Georgia Doubleheader Next!

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook, of Brasstown, North Carolina, claimed his first feature win of the 2018 racing season on Saturday evening, June 23 at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia! Ray piloted the Wynn Motorsports #53 Capital racecar to the fastest lap overall during the qualifying session to earn the pole position for the 30-lap weekly Super Late Model main event. The driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" then jumped out to the race lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back en route to the flag-to-flag $2,000 triumph over Jake Knowles, Justin Shipley, Matt Bishop, and Mike Tinker! Full results from the Atlanta-area facility can be accessed online at www.dixiespeedway.com.

“It feels good to get back into victory lane and finally get that monkey off of our back,” quoted Cook this week. “Our car is coming around and getting better, but we still need to get a little better. We just aren’t tight enough yet, but we will give it another shot when we head back to Dixie this Saturday. I have to thank the Wynn’s, along with all of our sponsors for their continued support and hopefully there are some more wins along the way this year!”

The Wynn Motorsports team will return to Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia this Saturday night, June 30 for an unsanctioned Super Late Model showdown, which pays $3,000 to the winner. A similar $3,000 to win contest will then be held up the road at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on Sunday, July 1. More information concerning both of these races can be found by visiting www.dixiespeedway.com.

Wynn Motorsports would like to thank the following group of sponsors for their continued support: Wynn Land Development, Dublin Winwater, Heartland EMS, Capital Race Cars, Andy Durham Racing Engines, Penske Shocks, Swift Springs, Zeta Performance, Modern Images, Schaeffer’s Racing Oil, Sunoco Race Fuels, American Racer South, FK Rod Ends, Outlaw Racing Products, The Joie of Seating, PPM Racing Products, Wiles Driveshafts, and Delph Communications.
