Howard Moore Enjoys Successful ASCS Midsouth Speedweek
Memphis, Tennessee (7/03/18) – Howard Moore raced his Stinson’s Industrial #40 Senter Farms Maxim Sprint Car to a pair of American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Midsouth Speedweek victories over the weekend.
In four events the 21-year-old racer scored two wins, a runner-up finish, and a fourth-place finish.
“We had a great Speedweek,†Moore commented. “We got two wins and we were in contention for one more. I’ve got to give the credit to my team. Mr. Mike (Ward), Billy, my dad, and Ricky worked hard the whole weekend. It was extremely hot every day, but it didn’t keep them from giving me a good car every night.
“I also want to thank Larry Chase for putting together the Speedweek. It was a blast, and I hope it only grows for years to come. Last but not least, I want to say a very special thanks to Lora Crawley and Kristy Skinner for heading up the passing of the helmets at each event for the Jason Johnson family. Over $10,000 was raised, and that’s something to be very proud ofâ€
Howard Moore kicked off the 2018 American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Mid-South Region Speedweek in fine style on Thursday night with a win at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas).
Twenty-five entries took part in the program, and after dueling for the win in his heat race, Howard finished second, which locked him into the third-starting spot for the feature.
In the finaleMoore stalked leader Brad Bowden for the first 19 circuits before grabbing the lead. Once out front the pilot of the Dynamic Electric #40 Sprinter cruised to his third victory of 2018.
He was followed across the finish line by Marshall Skinner, Tim Crawley, Derek Hagar, and Brad Bowden.
On Friday night the action shifted to Crowley's Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas), where 24 entries took to the tight bullring. Howard raced from the eighth-starting spot to a second-place finish in his heat race, which earned him a spot in the redraw.
The redraw presented Moore with the third-starting spot for the feature for the second-straight night. Howard raced at the front of the field throughout the action-packed, 25-lap feature before crossing the finish line in second behind race winner, Derek Hagar. Marshall Skinner, Jeremy Middleton and Brad Bowden completed the Top-5 finishers.
Tracey Clay's I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) played host to the Speedweek action on Saturday night. For the third-straight night Howard pulled a big number at the pill draw. After racing to a third-place finish from his seventh-starting spot in heat race action, Howard received the outside-front-row starting spot for the 25-lap finale.
Moore took control of the lead from Zach Pringle on the second circuit and went on to cruise to his second win of the week and fourth of the season! Tim Crawley, Derek Hagar, Zach Pringle and Dustin Gates completed the Top-5 finishers.
Howard wrapped up the weekend on Sunday night at Diamond Park Speedway (Nashville, Arkansas), where he notched a fourth-place finish behind Brian Bell, Tim Crawley and Marshall Skinner.

The upcoming weekend – July 6-7 – will take the team to Mississippi for a pair of United Sprint Car Series (USCS) events. Hattiesburg Speedway (Hattiesburg, Mississippi) will play host to the tour on Friday night, while Rodney Wing’s Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) will be the site of Saturday’s action.
