Dennis Erb, Jr. Dips South for Peach State Doubleheader Following Jackson 100
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season winding down quickly, the cars and stars of the popular national touring series rolled into the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on September 21-23 for the 39th Annual 'Jackson 100.' On Friday night, Dennis Erb, Jr. started off his weekend by posting the seventh quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session.
After Saturday was washed out by inclement weather, Dennis finished fifth in his heat race on Sunday afternoon prior to grabbing the second transfer spot through his B-Main. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then started the $20,000 to win 'Jackson 100' from the outside of the tenth row, drew a lap 21 caution flag when he slipped over the banking, and eventually recorded a sixteenth place effort in the 100-lap contest. The Dennis Erb Racing team will venture further south this coming weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, as they will invade the Peach State for a pair of pivotal point battles on September 29-30. Up first will be the annual ‘Dixie Shootout’ at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening. Following the $12,000 to win program at the Atlanta-area facility, the ‘Rome Showdown’ at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia will close out the doubleheader weekend on Sunday night with a complete show paying $10,000 to the winner.
