Jeep Van Wormer Captures $5,000 Win; Guns for Third Straight Berlin Triumph!
(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) For the second weekend in a row, Jeep Van Wormer found victory lane at the dirt-covered Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan! On Saturday evening, September 22, the second of three straight American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) showdowns were held at the sprawling 7/16-mile speedplant. Jeep laid down the quickest lap in his group during the qualifying session and later advanced one spot in his heat race to finish third.
After drawing the pole position for the 40-lap main event, Jeep dominated the headliner at his home state facility, as he led each and every circuit. The Pinconning, Michigan standout beat Rich Neiser, Travis Stemler, David Meilke, and Rich Bell to the checkered flag to lay claim to the $5,000 top prize. “The racetrack was in way better shape this past weekend and I’ve got to thank the track crew for all of their hard work,†commented Van Wormer recently. “We had a lot of fun and our car was really good all night. Drawing the pole position for the feature definitely helped, as clean air at a place that big means a lot. It would be really cool to win all three of the dirt races at Berlin this year and we will try our best to get the job done on Saturday!â€
Berlin Raceway will go dirt for one last weekend and Jeep will be in the pit area at the Wolverine State track on Saturday night, September 29 to gun for his third straight Super Late Model triumph. The American Ethanol Late Model Tour will once again preside over the dirt-slinging action at Berlin this Saturday and a $6,000 payday will be up for grabs. If Jeep can drive into victory lane for a third straight week, he will have amassed a total of $15,000 in winnings!
