He raced to victory on Friday night and then backed it up with another win on Saturday night in his Ramirez Motorsports No. 4r Koda Services/ Boom-Test Well Services/ Hughes Race Car/Cornett Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified.

The victories increased his 2019-win tally to five.

Returning on Saturday, Ramirez locked his spot into the $1,100-to-win, open Modified finale with a heat race victory. Holding off R.C. Whitwell and the rest of the field, Dereck soared to his fifth win of the season. Dustin Allen, Delbert Smith, and Travis Johnson completed the Top-5 finishers.

In IMCA SportMod competition Dereck posted a runner-up finish in his heat race, which locked him into the fourth-starting position for the main event. Racing in the Top 5 throughout the 20 lapper, Ramirez crossed the finish line in the fourth position.
